Affinity groups are formed by alumni who wish to connect with others based on some common experience. Join other
alumni in enriching the community and academic experience for current
students. Affinity groups include Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) Black
Escargot (African-American), Latino Alumni Network, Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual, Transgender & Intersex (GLBTI) and the Page & Eloise
Smith Scholastic Society (for the benefit of students who are orphans,
foster children and wards of the the court.)
Serving on the Alumni Council is one of the ways you can advance the
interests and promote the welfare of the university. The governing body
of the Alumni Association is the Alumni Association Council. The
council is composed of thirty members. Twenty-four are graduates of
UCSC and are elected.
Click here to see current council members. Contact the Alumni Association for more information at alumni@ucsc.edu or call (800) 933-SLUG.
Alumni volunteers attend high school and community college events as
representatives of UCSC to share their experience as former students
with prospective students.
In the spring the Alumni Association assists the Admissions Office
in "yield events" where newly admitted students can talk with alumni
before deciding whether or not to enroll at UC Santa Cruz.
Please, click here to sign up or for more information contact the Office of Admissions at (831) 459-4008 or via email at admissions@ucsc.edu.
In locations around the country, UCSC alumni and friends periodically get
together to enjoy each other's company, network, listen to faculty
speakers, go to theater performances, wine tastings, parties,
educational outings, and a host of other activities.
You can volunteer to help plan events in your area, or just join the fun! Click here for more information.
