"As we prepare for our daughter Paige to begin her college career at
UCSC, we are excited, nervous and also somewhat sad. We are sad because
she won’t be here with us everyday, we are nervous because she will be
living on her own for the first time, and we are excited for her as she
begins the first major step to becoming an adult. We also feel
confident, because we know that Paige made the best choice by deciding

"As parents we are proud of our son, but I will miss the nightly debates
with him about current and past events. The send off has been and will
continue to be a ongoing project, UCSC has done a very good job in
making the transition from high school to UCSC as smooth as possible .
There is so much to do from getting medical data for the health center
to verifying how long of a RU 45 cable to get for the internet access
in his room or finding transportation to the airport for the holiday
trip home . The school is doing a wonderful job of offering support and
information . My wife and I very pleased that Joseph selected UCSC for

The UCSC community is as inclusive as it is diverse. UCSC Parent Programs provide a place for the whole family to follow their Banana Slug’s experience from freshman year through graduation.
Because UCSC alumni are Banana Slugs for a lifetime, it only makes sense that parents are family, too. Parent Programs seeks volunteers interested in participating in a variety of ways.
