Student Support is More Important Than Ever
  • UCSC awards scholarships to approximately 1,550 students annually—and many more are in need. About 60% of our students rely on some form of financial aid.
  • More than one-third of our first -year students are the first in their families to attend college.
  • On average, students pay 80 percent more to attend UCSC than 10 years ago, and financial aid has not kept pace with costs. The gap in student financial aid packages ranges from $1,000 to $3,400.
  • As family incomes decline, more new and continuing students are requesting aid.

who want to transfer to UCSC. Recipients from each of the 13 regional
community colleges have overcome adverse socioeconomic
circumstances, have a demonstrated commitment to assisting and
improving the lives of others, and have financial aid eligibility.
